Tunbridge Wells born Steve moved to Maidstone in 1992. Steve's initiation into road racing was at Cadwell Park in August 2003 when he finished 7th in his first ever race with BMCRC. 2004 saw Steve rarely out of the top ten in any of his club races.

The 2005 season commenced with entry in the Virgin Mobile R6 Cup where he finished in the top 10 of all completed rounds until withdrawal of sponsorship led to a change in direction. Steve moved from 600cc Supersport to a 1000cc Superstock with BMCRC and never looked back. After achieving a number of wins at the end of 2005 Steve moved confidently forward into 2006 when he achieved unprecedented success, securing more than 65 race wins, 1st place in the MRO Superstock, BEMSEE Forza Extreme and Open 1300 Championships and 3rd in the Powerbike Championship ( on a standard bike ). Steve also won the Lord of Lydden, Ace of Snetterton, Sir Ben Ball and Vincent Bennett Trophies.

Barcelona

In acknowledgement of his talent Steve was awarded the coveted Mellano Trophy for overall champion of BMCRC 2006.

2007 saw Steve enter the British Superbike paddock riding for the Bike Shop Faversham in the Metzeler National Superstock Championship. The tough competition and lack of circuit knowledge of the wider national tracks did not affect Steve's enthusiasm, with him rarely being out of the top 15 - not bad for his rookie year! And at Snetterton - one of Steve's favourite tracks - he achieved an impressive 6th position.

In addition to BSB, Steve was invited to join the French team "Team33Endurance" as a pilot in the 24 hour endurance race at Catalunya, Barcelona in July, where the team were winners of the Superstock class and 3rd overall - never previously achieved by a Superstock team!
