Donnington Park (GP) 23th September 2007
Returning to ride for The Bike Shop Faversham but at a little known track Steve had his work cut out for him this weekend. He qualified 20th for the double header and finished 15th in Race 1 on Saturday which was the re-run of Knockhill. Looking forward to a better finish on Sunday, Steve was riding well, getting down to a 1:36:09 when a narrow miss with Kenny Gilbertson saw him crash out at lap 5.
Cadwell Park 27th August 2007
Steve finally got the dry weather he had been waiting for this weekend but a problem with the bike setup dogged the weekend leaving Steve 25th on the grid after qualifying. The problems were finally sorted out by morning practice on race day but Steve had a lot of ground to make up. He finally finished in 15th place adding 1 point to his Championship Standings.
Croft 12th August 2007
After two days of fine weather, the heavens opened again at 12.40pm, causing confusion on tyre selection which was to prove vital as the race unfolded. Having chosen a dry front and wet rear, Steve managed to work his way up from 18th on the grid to 8th before being 'ambushed' at the last corner and finally finishing 11th.
Oulton Park 17th July 2007
Race cancelled due to torrential rain. To be re-run at Brands Hatch.
Knockhill 1st July 2007
Following on from the two top ten finishes at Mondello Park, Ireland double header Steve started at Knockhill, Scotland in a new team, Rockforge Racing.
Typical Knockhill weather proved good and bad. The pre-race test the month before in the Scottish Championship and the invaluable assistance of Bob Grant "Wee Bob" stood Steve in good stead for the British round.
This experience and successful experimenting with set up and gearing saw Steve qualify 11th.
The changeable weather on raceday made tyre choice imperative. A dry rear and wet front proved crucial as the weather worsened. Steve had moved into 2nd place by the fourth lap, flood conditions soon prevailed, the track became awash and the race was stopped. The only bright spot of the afternoon was Steve's now infamous Superman highside save!
Mondello Park 17th June 2007
Steve's introduction to Mondello was continuous rain during practise and qualifying - not ideal conditions for his first time at this challenging track. Steve qualified 23rd by the end of Saturday but was not too disappointed as he had finally got to grips with the unfarmiliar circuit by the end of the qualifying sessions. Sunday started dry and by the first race was even warming up. Steve managed to move up to 8th place on the penultimate lap but lost two places on the last corner to Rose and Laverty finishing a not disappointing 10th. Steve's confidence was riding high by the second race when he turned the tables on Rose on the last lap to finish 8th.
Snetterton 20th May 2007
Steve showed his true potential this weekend at Snetterton quickly moving from his 12th qualifying position to 8th after a great start. He fought a hard battle to move up the field and finished a fantastic 6th place by the end of the race lapping in under the previous lap record with a 1.07.9 as his best.
Oulton Park 7th May 2007
The rigours of Oulton Park proved testing for Steve at the start of the weekend when he struggled with his bike set-up, qualifying 26th by the end of Sunday. However everything came together on race day when a good start saw him move up to 16th in the first lap and to 12th place when the race was stopped due to heavy rain. By the second half of the race, the track had dried out again and Steve eventually finished a creditable 13th. This achievement earned Steve Rider of the Day by Metzeler.
Silverstone 29th April 2007
Another unfamiliar track, but Steve qualified 17th on the grid. Moving up to 12th place by the fifth lap, he looked set to achieve a top ten finish, when collision with Rose looked like prematurely ending Steve's race. However Steve rejoined the race in last place and had worked his way to 27th when the race was red flagged.
Thruxton 15th April 2007
Steve's lack of experience of this circuit and difficulties achieving a satisfactory set-up with the bike resulted in Steve qualifying 35th for the race. Whilst the problems with the bike were not totally resolved by race day Steve managed to move forward 14 places during the race to finish 21st.
Brands Hatch GP 9th April 2007
The first race of the year at Steve's home track introduced Steve to his competitors and the strength and experience of the front runners indicated that the pace was going to be fast. Qualifying 15th out of 46 entrants, Steve moved up to finish 11th and in the points at the end of the first race.
